Enabling adolescents and adults to build capacity and meaningful participation in everyday life
About Tea Tree OT
Tea Tree OT is operated by Maddy Flowers, who is a Mental Health Occupational Therapist (OT), Maddy has 15 years of clinical experience working with people with mental health challenges in hospitals, clinics, homes and the community.Tea Tree OT helps people build the skills, confidence and supports they need when mental illness, stress or neurodevelopmental differences make day-to-day life harder. We work with each person to understand what matters to them, set meaningful goals and work towards realistic steps forward. We use a range of activities to build trust, support engagement and understand how someone is functioning. These activities may include creative activities such as music, art or craft; physical activities such as walking, stretching or ball games; and sensory strategies such as breathing, tapping, movement or listening to music.

What is Mental Health Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy is an evidence-based profession informed by occupational science, psychology, social sciences and health sciences. In occupational therapy, “occupation” means the everyday activities people want, need to do or are expected to do. These activities can include self-care, work, study, relationships, creativity, rest and community life.Mental health occupational therapy (OT) is a specialised practice area that focuses on enabling people to do, be, become and belong when impacted by mental health conditions, neurodivergence or psychosocial disabilities (Occupational Therapy Australia).
